Featured Pattern

Spring Meadow ScarfDesigned for the spring 2015 All Free Knitting Knit Along, the Spring Meadow Scarf uses three lovely lace patterns, custom seamless transitions and bright, light yarn to achieve the perfect spring/summer scarf. The lace motifs are inspired by nature as a nod to the season. The way the colors of the Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn transition into one another looks so professional, it's almost unbelievable that this knit scarf pattern requires no colorwork. If you love the look of this ethereal scarf half as much as we do, you'll find yourself with a new favorite knit at the end of these six weeks!

We have some VERY exciting news! Our friend Heidi from Hands Occupied is hosting a knit along with us. Watch for more information and join us in the #springmeadowKAL. Red Heart Yarns is sponsoring a great giveaway in conjunction with this KAL, so knit along with us, it's going to be so much fun!

This was a fun MKAL to knit

Somehow I missed this, but I started tonight. I hope you will do more of these knit alongs. My knitting group at work is anxious to participate.

I had so much fun with this and the schedule kept me knitting. I have other projects in the works but I always worked on this first. Please do more Knit Alongs Soon.

I enjoy knitting along, I think I will try a new lace pattern . thank you

Finished and blocked! I hope you do another KAL soon!

Time flies when you're having fun! I'm sad this KAL has come to an end. Really enjoyed learning all the different patterns and I'm thinking of doing a scarf with the vine pattern that was my favorite to knit. Thank you so much!

Finished!! I have really enjoyed this KAL, both easy in parts and challenging in others. A very beautiful scarf.

I must say that this is the first time I have been successful with the long tail cast on. Your video just seemed to click with me and for the first time my cast on was not too tight to use. That is what I love about this knit along. The videos are a great chance to get skills back (I haven't knitted in 20 yrs) or learn new ones. So far I liked the 1st section the best. the 2nd was also nice. I think I will use section one twice as wide for a facecloth. Finishing up week 4 tonight then on to week 5.... Happy knitting to all.

Week 5 pattern was fun and after several rows I realized that we had done this back on week 2 and I remembered that I loved knitting this pattern then too!

Week 4 challenged both my brain and the arthritis in my fingers but I am very pleased with the design. I am enjoying both the easy and the challenging sections.

I love this scarf! But for me it needs an edging that is more stable/straight. I am going to try the Hatch stitch edge to see if that works for me.

Hi there, smiler50! What an interesting idea! Don't forget to upload your photos; we can't wait to see the finished product. Happy knitting! -The Editors of AllFreeKnitting

I couldn't decide on one color, so picked three. I think I like the Firefly the best.

For whatever reason, it posted my picture above 3 times. sorry

I have the Firefly up through week 2 and the Petunia through week 1.

Finished with week 2 )

Can anyone tell me how long this section of the scarf measues? I am curious how mine matches up with others. Mine measures 9 1/2 inches from the longest part of the curve at the beginning to the needle. I enjoyed this stitch, but it took me a while to get the hang of it. I am not a pro knitter.

I didn't know about the KAL until the last minute so I am using what I had on hand that was similar in weight and gradient, Debbie Mumm's Traditions in robins egg

I didn't know about the KAL until the last minute so am using yarn I had on had, Debbie Mumm's Traditins in Robins Egg. It is the same weight and also gradient colored.

Oh! what happened to my photo?

I think I noticed something that said it would take a little while for review. I do see your photo up there. Now waiting on mine.

What fun! Loving the color shifts in this Boutique Unforgettable.

Do I have to use Tidal?

I mean, do I have to use Tidal for the contest?

following for the answer

Hey there, Cindy! No, you are not confined to Tidal. You can certainly use any color of Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn for the contest. We're very excited to see how your scarf turns out! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting
