The Hoover Blanket
The Hoover blanket is a replica of a baby blanket knitted by former first lady, Lou Henry Hoover. This simple yet beautiful knit baby blanket pattern features a field of pale lavender with a cream-colored border. The blanket is adorned with a silky lavender ribbon for an added touch of sweetness. This gorgeous blanket would look lovely draped over a crib or folded on a rocking chair. Knit your own Hoover Blanket and see how it brightens up your baby's nursery.

This beautiful baby blanket pattern just went into my library of "must make it". I especially appreciate the author's little history of our First Lady Lou Henry Hoover and how she shared the pattern with a fan. The pattern seems straightforward though it might be a little tricky to get the double knit down pat.

I was pretty curious to see what this pattern would be considering the name, "Hoover Blanket." A, "Hoover Blanket," during the depression was slang for a newspaper of blankets (after Roosevelt publically blamed Hoover for the depression). If the designer knows that than this is a pretty funny title. If not than it is just very sweet title. lol Either way this is a very sweet blanket.
