Irish Hooded Scarf Knitting Pattern

It's been a while since I've seen free knitting scarves patterns as intricate and beautiful as this one.  Don't you love all the details of this Irish Hooded Scarf Knitting Pattern? And yes, you read that right—it has a hood and pockets, too. This hooded scarf knitting pattern is unlike anything you've seen at department stores or even for sale by creators, because it's just so unique! However, the addition of pockets and a hood also makes it an excellent option to keep you warm and toasty in the winter without looking ridiculous.

Indeed this is a wonderful pattern - such detail and the interesting patterns within the pattern looking forward to knitting it.

I have actually made this pattern. While it is absolutely gorgeous (and my giftee loved it), I would definitely revise this from "Intermediate" to "Advanced" based on personal experience.

I would like to click on a photo of an article and get to the pattern without getting into my "saved pattern" box. As usual this web site does not seem to be set up that way.

Hi cshelton055 2880557, We only have the ability to post one picture per project on AllFreeKnitting. If you would like to view more images, you can find them by clicking on the link that says "click here for knitting pattern." A new window will open up, taking you to the original designer's website where you will find additional pictures, including pictures of people wearing this gorgeous scarf! --Editor of AllFreeKnitting

Please post pics of this while someone is wearing it, I can't for the life of me figure out what those things that look like short sleeves are nor how pockets would be necessary or helpful.

@ charleen7862 1073321, Thanks for your tips and tricks! --Editor of AllFreeKnitting @Crafter 1977936, After following the link that says "click here for knitting pattern," a new window will open that takes you directly to the original designer's page. From here, you can try copying and pasting the pattern into a Word document to help printing the pattern, adjusting the font size as needed. --Editor of AllFreeKnitting

I too have had problems with getting numerous unwanted pages when printing out patterns I solved this problem by bringing up the pattern and then clicking on the File label in the upper left corner of the screen This brings up a box with various options I scroll down and click on the Print Preview option This enables me to view each page by clicking on the forward arrow at the bottom I can then choose exactly what pages I want to print Also I start by printing one page to make sure that the entire text is on that page Good idea with this pattern because when printing at the text is too large and a lot of the right side of the page was missing Had to use the box in the upper middle of the screen and reduce text size to Got the entire pattern printed on pagesRead More Hope this info helps

love the scarf,,but unable3 to copy pattern ,,,,,,,,,,,,can you please helpbr thank youbr

If you click on the knitting instructions (hold on the ctrl key and click on instructions to over ride the pop-up blocker) there is a picture of the finished scarf

@jwr, Please be sure your pop-ups are not blocked in your browser settings. All of the patterns open in a new window, and this could be causing the problem. @mafick 3776171 and busybeeanne 7822219, A quick and easy way to print without the comments is to copy and paste the pattern into a Word document and print from there. Hope this helps! --Editor of AllFreeKnitting

Sounds nice, but can't really tell what it looks like when worn

maflick - I too have downloaded many pages for a pattern that could have been done in 1-2 pages. For that reason, I usually just LONG-HAND copy from the screen. Made a few mistaks in the translations but usually can figure out what I did wrong.

I really like your patterns BUT I am not so computer savvy, can you please let us print the pattern without all the comments. I just printed your Irish Scarf pattern and wasted a lot of paper and ink (which isn't cheap and I am retired on a fixed income). Please try and solve this problem for us. Out of 35 pages only 6 were the pattern. The comments went back to March 11, 2009 which is ridiculous

I am no longer able to get ANY knitting patterns by clicking on "click here for knitting pattern" You were kind enough to e-mail me a pdf for a scarf recently. Is there any other way I can access patterns? If not, I shall just have to unsubscribe as I am getting so frustrated seeing so many wonderful things I will never be able to make.

Hi unicorn5802002 9489383-- If you would like to submit a pattern to our sister site, AllFreeCrochet, please feel free to contact them here: http://www.allfreecrochet.com/index.php/hct/contact_us_page Thanks! --Editor of AllFreeKnitting

I make one similar to this except it is crocheted, and it also has pockets at each end of the scarf. If you would like to see it let me know I will try to put on this site. Roberta Williams

@macworrall 5111643: To access the pattern for the Irish Hooded Scarf, please click on the link that reads "Click here for knitting pattern." This should open the pattern page in a new window in your browser. Hope this helps! -- Editor of AllFreeKnitting

I can't find the pattern on this link.What am i doing wrong,please?

This is a beautiful pattern, but I prefer cowls. This shouldn't be difficult to adapt to that.
