This is such a beautiful scarf! I'm a beginner knitter, but this is definitely a pattern to remember for the future.

This is such a cute fashionable scarf! Very comparable to the trendy accessories in department stores. Even better that it's on-the-go ready!

I really want to make this, but after doing all 4 rounds and then starting over it just isn't looking like yours after starting the second round not getting that crossover as in yours this problem is so annoying and I'm knitting on a circular needle tube style

This in NOT knit in the round, it is knit in pieces and seamed later, that may be why it doesn't look like the picture.

Just started making this and have two questions. Is the number of stitches off by 2? The pattern is multiples of 7 plus two. Pls advise if cast on s/b 254 (not 256). Also when knitting continuously in the round is the pattern the same as when you use straight kneedles and pattern back and forth? Thanks.

Hi,you are right to question this. the pattern is written for straight needles. I made this scarf last year on circular needles and it took me several goes to make it work on the round. you have to reverse alternate rows and swap purls for knits. At the moment I cant find my working out but I think I cast on 252 stitches. It is a lovely scarf and worth the time to work it out. hope this helps in some way.

Hello again, I found the pattern I worked out for circular needles. Here it is: Cast on 252 becareful not to let the stitches twist on your needle! join in a circle. place a marker for the beginiing of the round Row 1- K1,P1,K2,P3 repeat to end of round. Move marker up each time you start a new round. Row 2- K1,P1,K1,Y/O,K1,SL1(PURLWISE),P2,PSSO repeat to end as before Row 3- K1,P1,K3,P2 repeat to end Row 4- K1, P1,SL1(knitwise),K2, PSSO,P1,Y/O,P1 repeat to end. thats it! just repeat these 4 rows untill the scarf is as wide as you would like then cast off. It is quite long but you can adjust the length by varying your cast on in multiples of 7. Good Luck!
