I really like this headband. I've added a couple extra sts on each end and making them garter sts to widen it just a bit as it seemed a bit narrow for me. It's turning out well though. Using Lion Wool-Ease Thick and Quick that I found at my local Ollies for $1.99 a ball.

I'm excited to try this tonight. Where is the link to the pattern to print it out? How many rows do I need to do total before binding off? Thanks!

The pattern is pretty vague on the instructions, it says to "knit to desired size", so no real indication or help there.

Knit to desired size means knit it to fit YOUR head. Only seems vague if you don't know how big your head is

Properly written patterns include sizing that accounts for the give and stretch of the stitch pattern, so this pattern doesn't just "seem vague" it is vague, it doesn't even indicate which yarn is used for it. Knowing my own head size does not help when knitting for other people. Your comment is rather impertinent.

I agree. I knit for gifts all the time. Guidance on what length is equivalent to, say, a size 7 hat or a men's medium would help.

A third headband pattern - and more intriguing than the last. Have I mentioned that I love this site? While I enjoy wearing a dressy-with-flair hat, I do not enjoy wearing 'beanie' type hats and tuques - the headbands have more flair and offer a sense of freedom when hiking in the bush or out with the dogs these are so much nicer than the ones in stores
