Celestial Blue Wrap
This stunning knit wrap is a perfect spring or summer project.
We have never seen a knit wrap so perfect for spring. This Celestial Blue Wrap is not only a lovely subdued blue to match the growing Forget-Me-Nots, but it's lightweight enough to not overheat for those warmer, sunnier days. This long wrap can be folded twice for a more bunched look around the shoulders, or draped elegantly around the arms. Don't stuff it in the back of the closet once spring is over, because this wrap also makes an excellent scarf. Try pairing it with a totally black or gray outfit so the color can stand out.

first, the model must be VERY tiny. from the top of my shoulder to mid-arm is 25" or 26". Second, I am finding that my lace weight thread will not knit to the gauge as noted here. So, I am going to rip out what I've done and add two more of the "A" patterns and in between stitches. That should result in 50 more stitches and a "shawl" rather than a scarf. br /br /Next, there is an error in Chart A Row 1. the first reduce stitch should be a Sl1, K1 peso - as written it will go in the wrong direction. Third, as noted below, Row 2 instructions should say to pearl all the way rather than the K15 noted. This is a pretty pattern and I invested a fortune in the thread. hope it works for me - wish me luck.

Yfwd? Where is an explanation of the abbreviations used in the key for the chart? I wish the pattern had instructions independent of the chart because I find the chart difficult to read and understand. Judging by the comments below, the chart has mistakes as well. The wrap is gorgeous and I would love to give it a try, but not without better instructions.

This stitch is going to seem a little faffy but it is exactly as explained, when you do your knit 2 together, pull the right needle back a little with the 1 stitch on it, leave the 2 knitted together right where they are and with the tip of the right needle go back into the first stitch only and knit it again then allow both stitches to drop off the needle as you normally would, you'll still have 2 stitches on your right needle when you're done. I know this is late, hope it helps someone.

This shawl is simply stellar and would be the perfect wrap for an elegant summer wedding. It might even be a perfect gift for the bride to wear to the reception from a loving sister or bridesmaid. The Rowan Fine Lace Yarn is a joy to work with and makes all the effort put into the wrap worth it. Plus, its mostly alpaca so it is softer than soft. Its sure to become an heirloom piece.

So wouldn't the second row then just be "k3, purl across to last 3 sts, k3" ? I'm confused

Thanks a bunch for the heads up, I just printed this beautiful pattern. You don't want purl bumps out of place. This shawl is absolutely gorgeous.

yes I just discovered that, it is the 2nd set stitches just after working the 10 stitches of chart A on row 2, right? Just checking. Thanks

Thanks for the p15 alert. I've never worked w/charts. The way I read this, K every RS row follow chart on WS rows. Is this correct? Thanks.

No, there are charted row instructions for each row of the pattern. I've been knitting for over 50 years and I'm usually quite adept at charts, but this one took me some time. I finally got annoyed and sat down and wrote it all out line by line, which was quite a bit easier than trying to read and knit at the same time. The most confusing part is the fact that this chart shows both rs and ws rows, charts usually only show rs rows. Hope this helps someone, since it's really late.
