This is a great pattern. I made one scarf for my sister and one for me. Both, of course, are red. It can be made from almost any yarn, and can be as long as one wants it to be. I made both of mine about 6 feet...plus...so they could be worn a variety of ways. I highly suggest this scarf pattern, and I love the story behind it. It's a keeper!
