These look incredibly cozy and simple. My youngest loves fluffy, soft socks and slippers. I am sure he would love these too. I am not sure light and Lofty is still available to buy, but I think I still have a few skeins in the craft room. Maybe I will try them with eyelash yarn too.

Sizes included with this pattern are small, medium, and large. These sizes are for children up through adult women. In order to get your gauge to work out just as written in the tutorial, the designer states that you must use the Light and Lofty yarn. This yarn is currently out of stock, but probably discontinued.

You are correct, Light and Lofty was discontinued around 2009/2010, it was very similar to Homespun yarn. I've made them in homespun and Homespun thick and quick and they do come out relatively the same.

This is a simple, easy to make slipper pattern. Just to mention, the Red Heart Light and Lofty yarn used for it has been discontinued, although I see from the comments below it was not easy to work with. So maybe better to substitute a super bulky yarn, there are so many kinds available that would make great slippers.

Thank you! As a beginner knitter, I never would have known it was discontinued. I have a skein of Yarn Bee that looks similar, and I haven't had any trouble with it for knitting, and its weight is bulky(5).

I like the instructions for these slippers. Photos also help especially when you have to stitch them together a certain way.

I made only one of the slippers, following the instructions exactly, including same kind of yarn, needles, etc and it turned out huge for an adult female. LIght and Lofty yarn is a pain to work with as it tangles and snarls together and does not knit smoothly at all. This pattern (and the yarn) went straight to the garbage. Good luck if you ever try this one. Don't bother paying for it.

Light and lofty yarn, don't get me started, its complete rubbish, even when its not breaking every two or three stitches.

Hi nl3310, The pattern page is a little confusing, but it does say "You may Print this page as it is" and the full free pattern is listed below. You can purchase a more printer-friendly form if you wish to. Hope this helps!

Your Yarn for these Beginners slippers here, state: Yarn Weight (6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky, these are the Uggh Slippers. On the pattern it calls for Red Heart Light And Lofy Yarn. Are these the same weight yarns? Burrs
