Gauge: 20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] with smaller needles and Patons® Décor™ in stocking st.
16 sts and 20 rows = 4” [10 cm] with larger needles and Patons® Moxie™ in stocking st.
Instructions:
Note: When working from Chart I, wind small balls of the colors to be used, one for each separate area of color in the design. When changing colors, wind the 2 colors around each other where they meet, on WS, to avoid a hole.
With smaller needles and MC, cast on 130 sts.
Knit 2 rows (garter st), noting 1st row is RS.
Beg with a knit row, work 10 rows stocking st.
Next row: (RS). With MC, K45. PM. Knit 1st row of Chart I. PM. With MC, knit to end of row.
Next row: With MC, purl to marker. Purl 2nd row of Chart. Purl to end of row. Chart I is now in position.
Cont working chart as established until row 43 of Chart I is complete. Break all colors except MC.
With MC and beg with a purl row, work 10 rows stocking st.
Next row (WS-fold line). Knit. Break MC. Place a marker at end of last row. Change to G and larger needles.
Next row: (RS). *K3. K2tog. Rep from * around. 104 sts. Beg with a purl row, cont in stocking st until G section measures 1” [2.5 cm] longer than first section between cast on edge and marked row, ending with a knit row.
Cast off knitwise (WS).
Using Chart II, embroider rem areas of Roses.
Sew side seam. Sew cast on and cast off edges tog, noting G section will roll slightly beyond outer edges.
