Knitting a blanket can be a long and involved process, but with these easy steps, it's a breeze. In no time at all you'll have a blanket for your children to hide under when the monsters come out at night. Just don't be surprised if they start dragging it everywhere.
Knitting Needle Size15 or 10 mm
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

Measurements: Blanket measures 40” (102 cm) x 30” (76 cm).

dc = double crochet
K = knit
P = Purl

* = repeat whatever follows the * as indicated
Gauge: 9 sts = 4” (10 cm); 18 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Moss Stitch. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.
Instructions
MOSS STITCH
(worked over an even number of sts)
Rows 1 and 2: *K2, P2; repeat from * across.
Rows 3 and 4: *P2, K2; repeat from * across.
Repeat Rows 1-4 for pattern.
Note
The entire blanket body is worked using two strands of yarn at the same time.
BLANKET
With knitting needles and A, and working with two strands of yarn at the same time, cast on 88 sts.
Work Moss Stitch for 36 rows.
With B, work Moss Stitch for 36 rows.
With C, work Moss Stitch for 36 rows.
With D, work Moss Stitch for 36 rows.
Bind off all sts in pattern.
Crochet Scallop Edge
With crochet hook, join E with slip stitch to edge of blanket, *3 dc in next space, skip one, slip st; repeat from * around entire blanket. Join final slip st to first slip st. Fasten off.
With yarn needle, weave in all loose ends.
