Knitting Needle Size8 or 5 mm

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials:

  • Boomerang (100 Extrafine Superwash Merino; 4 oz./250 yds.) 1(2) skeins
  • Size 8 Needles
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends


Finished Measurements: 6" x 25" (6" x 50")


Designer Note: This scarf is knitted in short rows. When knitting short rows, you may have gaps in your work when you turn the row. You may choose to leave them or to close the holes. To close the holes, before turning your work slip the next stitch from the left to the right needle, turn work, move yarn from front to back and slip the same stitch back to the left needle. The working yarn is now looped around the slipped stitch and closes the hole.


Directions:
CO 30 stitches. Knit one row. Work in pattern as follows:

Short Row Pattern Stitch
Row 1: Knit 14, turn work
Row 2: Knit 14
Row 3: Knit 12, turn work
Row 4: Knit 12
Row 5: Knit 10, turn work
Row 6: Knit 10
Row 7: Knit 8, turn work
Row 8: Knit 8
Row 9: Knit 6, turn work
Row 10: Knit 6
Row 11: Knit across all stitchs
Row 12-22: Repeat rows 1-11
Row 23: Knit 6, turn work
Row 24: Knit 6
Row 25: Knit 8, turn work
Row 26: Knit 8
Row 27: Knit 10, turn work
Row 28: Knit 10
Row 29: Knit 12, turn work
Row 30: Knit 12
Row 31: Knit 14, turn work
Row 32: Knit 14
Row 33: Knit across all sts
Row 34-44: Repeat Row 23-33

Repeat rows 1-44 in pattern stitch until scarf measures desired length, ending with Row 11 or 33. BO.
