Fancy Fur Stole Pattern

Yarn Weight(7) Jumbo

Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

 

Materials:

  • RED HEART® Boutique Fur™: 4 balls 9508 Seamist
  • Susan Bates® Knitting Needles: 19mm [US 35]
  • Yarn needle

 

Measurements:
46" (117 cm) long and is 11" (28 cm) wide lying flat. Note that the stole stretches longer and narrower when hanging around the neck.

 

Abbreviations:
dec=decrease(s)(d)(ing);
inc=increase(s) (d)(ing);
K=knit;
K2tog=knit next 2 stitches together;
mm=millimeters;
st(s)=stitch(es)

 

Special Abbreviation:
Kfb=Knit into the front and then into the back of the same st

 

Gauge:
5 sts=4" [10 cm]; 2 rows=4" [10 cm] in Garter st (knit every row).

 

Instructions:

STOLE
Cast on 3 sts.

Increase Repeat
Rows 1-3: Knit.
Row 4: Kfb, knit to last st, kfb – 2 sts inc.
Repeat these 4 rows three times more until there are 11 sts on the needle.
Work even in Garter st (knit every row) until piece measures 34” (86 cm) lying flat.

Decrease Repeat
Row 1: K2tog, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog – 2 sts dec.
Rows 2-4: Knit.
Repeat these 4 rows three times more until 3 sts remain on the needle.
Knit 3 rows. Bind off.

 

FINISHING
With yarn needle, weave in all loose ends.
