Time stops at Shamli

"Time stops at Shamli is a sideways constructed triangular shawl designed to use one skein of fingering weight yarn. It used twisted increases and decreases along with yarn overs to form a lacey fabric with interesting surface texture along the ribs. ‘Time stops at Shamli’, a short story by Ruskin Bond, is set in a nondescript town named Shamli where people lead mundane lives and time seems to drag. The protagonist impulsively decides to get down at Shamli from a train and ends up meeting his old love. It is a beautiful story told around love, life and relationships. This shawl, with its long lace lines in constantly changing colors, increases and decreases, is also meant as a little representation of this beautiful journey called life. It uses twisted increases and decreases along with yarn overs to form a lacy fabric with interesting surface texture along the ribs."
