MATERIALS
- Bernat Satin (100 g/3.5 oz) 7 (7 8 8 9) balls
- Sizes 4 mm (U.S. 6) and 5 mm (U.S. 8) knitting needles.
- Sizes 4 mm (U.S. 6) and 5 mm (U.S. 8) circular needles 16 ins [40 cm] long or size needed to obtain gauge
- 4 st holders.
GAUGE: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st with larger needles.
INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).
BACK
**With larger needles, cast on 74 (78-82-86-90) sts.
1st row: (RS). K2. *P2. K2. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: P2. *K2. P2. Rep from * to end of row.
Rep these 2 rows (K2. P2) ribbing for 3 ins [7.5 cm] ending on a 2nd row.
Change to smaller needles and cont in (K2. P2) ribbing until work from beg measures 5½ ins [14 cm] ending on a 1st row.
Next row: (WS). Rib, dec 9 sts evenly across. 65 (69-73-77-81) sts.
Change to larger needles and proceed in stocking st for 6 rows.
Inc 1 st each end of needle on next and following 6th rows until there are 77 (81-85-91-95) sts.
Cont even until work from beg measures 13½ (13½-13½-14-14) ins [34.5 (34.5-34.5-35.5-35.5) cm] ending with RS facing for next row.
