Mitred Squares
By: Wooly Thoughts
Did you know you can use free knitting patterns to create beautiful optical illusions in your knitted work? This Mitred Squares pattern will show you how to make your own mitred square using shadow knitting techniques. To make this type of square, you will start out with the number of stitches required for two sides of the square. After that, you will slowly decrease each ridge of knitting until the inner parts form an L shape. Give this pattern a try. Once you get the hang of it, you can easily transform this square into an afghan, a pillow case or whatever you set your mind to.
