Steinway Hat IR 2

The best knit hat patterns are always the simplest. A great winter hat has neither frills nor fuss - it just keeps you warm. Sure, some fancy details here and there are nice to look at, but at the end of the day, if an intricately detailed hat doesn't keep you warm, you won't want to wear it. The Steinway Hat is one of those great basics that gets the job done in style. This blue beauty is an easy project you'll be able to finish in no time. Try it on and you'll see what were talking about.

This pattern is not the one in the picture of the Steinway Hat. The picture shows a twisted rib pattern. Where is the pattern for the twisted rib hat?

Would someone be able to send me the pattern. The link on the website page no longer works. Thanks

Try the link again, it worked for me today, July 18l and I had no issues it takes you to Ravelry where you can download the PDF for free.

This hat looks so warm and cozy. I would definitely love to wear this during the winter!

I just love this stitch and have done several hats and scarves in it. I will try it as soon as I finish my 2 other running project which are a scarf and a cover for my phone. This is the easiest hat to make, but when its finished, it looks complicated, I knitted it many times and also the matching scarf.

But I've been meaning to make it! Plan to make a number for donations. I want to encourage your readers to just pick up dp needles and give them a try and change your world. I learned to knit long before computers, so posting pictures is incomprehensible to me. Thanks for the great pattern.

This hat pattern has a lot of stretch and give to it, perfect for that hard-to-fit person. Not shown in the photo above is that the designer made a pom pom for the top in a bright contrasting color, which adds just the right fun touch. The ribbed texture keep the bottom edge from rolling up too.

I live near Steinway Street in Astoria so I was attracted by the name of the pattern. The creator apparently lives nearby. Simple hat pattern. Should be easy to do.

Where are the FREE patterns? I want some can download.

i'm trying to comment on 2 other ribbed hat patterns but the pages won't take my submissions. Also, the pages ask for my rating. Where is the rating button? Thought I'd ask here since you're an editor

This is a SUPER pattern, and not difficult. I do a lot of laces, now working short rows, dreaming of entrelac so I'm probably an "intermediate" knitter. I'm fussy about the appearance of the decrease/closure at the top of a hat. This is a nice, not clunky, closure. I often replace the prescribed closure with one from another pattern, not necessary on this hat. It's a pattern that's masculine, super squishy, looks good in light colors, dark colors, variegated yarns, and space-dyed yarns. Super simple, straightforward instructions Kudos to Heidi Robinson! It's my go-to pattern for hats for a guy who is "stuck" on the traditional watch cap.

I've done this 3 times so far. It looks great in a light color so the pattern (easy) can show off. The rib, unlike some others, stretches a lot and bounces back. I made two with a 4 row fur border.

I've also knitted this cap many times, for friends and also for charity projects. Because you can adjust the number of rows you can make it shorter or longer to fit kids or adults, male or female - and it even has interchangeable pompoms. I think it may have been the first hat project I made and I recommend it for beginner knitters who want to move beyond knitting scarves on straight needles.
