    Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

    Materials:

    • RED HEART® Boutique Magical™: 2 balls of 1901 Open Sesame
    • Susan Bates® Circular Knitting Needles: 5.5 mm [US 9] - 29”
    • Marker
    • Yarn needle


    GAUGE: 12 sts = 4” (10 cm), 18 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Pattern Stitch. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

     

    ABBREVIATIONS
    K = knit
    mm = millimeter
    st(s) = stitch(es)
    yo = yarn over

    Finished Size: 48” circumference x 12” long (122 x 30.5 cm)


    Special Stitch
    Pass Yo Over = With the point of the left needle, lift the yo over the previous 2 knit stitches and off the needle.


    COWL
    Cast on 148 sts. Join being careful not to twist sts. Place marker to indicate beginning of Round.
    Round 1 (Right side): *Yo, K2, pass yo over; repeat from * around.
    Round 2: Knit around.
    Round 3: *K1, yo, K2, pass yo over; repeat from * around to last st, K1.
    Round 4: Knit around. Repeat Rounds 1-4 for pattern until Cowl measures approximately 12” (30.5 cm) from cast on edge, ending by working Row 1.
    Bind off all sts loosely in knit.
