    Biased Opinion Scarf

    Knit with straight knitting needles, this sensational Biased Opinion Scarf is just what you need for winter. Knit it up in bright colors and chase away the chilly blues. This scarf will look fabulous paired with your winter coat - just follow the simple knitting instructions to make your own.

    Knitting Needle Size9 or 5.5 mm

    Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

    FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
    Approximately 8"/20.5cm wide (measured along the bias) x 60"/152.5cm long, not including fringe

    MATERIALS
     

    • Stitch.Rock.Love. Sheep(ish) from Caron (70% Acrylic/30% Wool; 3oz/85g, 167yds/153m) Shown in: #0021 Lime(ish): 2 balls
    • One pair size U.S. 9 (5.5mm) knitting needles, or size to obtain gauge
    • One size U.S. K-10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook (for fringe only).
    • Yarn Needle

    GAUGE
    In Bias Pattern on size U.S 9 (5.5mm) needle, 17 sts = 4"/10cm.

    Gauge is not critical for this project.

    SPECIAL STITCH
    pf&b: Purl in front and back of same stitch —1 st increased

    Instructions:

    SCARF

    CO 33 sts.

    Row 1 (RS): K2tog, k1, *p2, k2; repeat from * to last 2 sts, p1, pf&b.

    Row 2: P1, k2, *p2, k2; repeat from * to last 2 sts, p2.

    Row 3: K2tog, *p2, k2; repeat from * to last 3 sts, p2, pf&b.

    Row 4: *K2, p2; repeat from * to last st, k1.
    Repeat Rows 1–4 until piece measures 60"/152.5cm from beginning.
    BO in patt.

    FINISHING
    Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.

    Fringe (optional)
    Cut 12"/30.5cm strands of yarn. Holding 5 strands together, fold fringe in half. Using crochet hook, *insert hook from WS to RS into short end of Scarf and into folded strands, pull folded strands through forming a loop, insert ends into loop and pull tight against edge; repeat from * working 11 fringes evenly spaced across. Repeat across other end of Scarf.
