Simply gorgeous little shawl with a nice repeated pattern. It looks as is you will have to be scrupulous about counting rows so you know exactly where you are in the pattern. After the first couple of repeats it should be easy to see what's next and if you've made a mistake. As noted below, the bamboo yarn is expensive so you might be able to substitute a nice merino or silk in a similar gauge and be sure to check the yardage.

Made this with Caron Simply Soft LIGHT and it is stunning!!! The pattern is tricky but worth the rip backs to correct errors.

Did the shawl have the same soft drape when you used the Caron yarn?

Thank you for that information. I've never tried knitting with bamboo yarn and probably never will (as noted below, it's very expensive) so it's good to know there is a less expensive yarn that looks stunning. It's a gorgeous pattern.

There is a shortcut in the pattern to take you to the recommended yarn. Its Bamboo 26/20 and it is 700yds. per ball @ $61.20 a ball and the shawl requires 2 balls.

I have tried to practice on pattern in smaller size. (Knit 5, pattern for 17 st, k 5). It was so pretty. If I cont. it would be a lovely scarf. When I began full size, counting was always off. I keep backing up to find my error it keeps getting worse. My math breaks down multiples of 17 + 10 for edges. Would love to figure out where I am making mistakes. Is my math wrong, or what am I missing. Help ! Thank you, Priscilla

So glad to get such an easy way to bind off so that's it's stretchy! For years I have switched to a larger needle in order to get a looser bind off. Can't wait to try this way! Thanks.

Beautiful! I am just a beginner knitter; however, I think I will try to find the Yarn and attempt this beautiful Shawl.
