Fantasy Flower Napkin Rings

Materials:
- RED HEART® “Designer Sport™”: 1 ball each 3650 Pistachio MC, 3750 Girlie Pink, 3770 Berry, 3215 Lemon Zest, 3261 Terra Cotta, 3529 Grape, and 3815 Dutch Blue
- Knitting Needles: 4mm [US 6]
- Double Pointed Needles: Two 4mm [US 6]
- Yarn needle
Gauge: 21 sts = 4”; 28 rows = 4” in St st. Gauge is not important for this project
Measurements: Finished Napkin Rings measure 2” x 3”
Abbreviations:
- Ssk: Slip 2 sts knitwise one at a time to right needle, insert point of left needle into front of sts, and knit them together
- Sk2p: Slip 1 st knitwise to right needle, knit next 2 sts together, pass the slip stitch over and off needle
- K = knit
- MC = main color
- mm = millimeters
- St st = Stockinette stitch (Knit on right side rows; Purl on wrong side rows.)

Note: Each flower is made up of 3 sets of 4 petals each.
Napkin Ring
Stem
With double pointed needles and MC, cast on 3 sts. Work I-cord as follows: * k3, do not turn, but slide sts to end of needle; repeat from * until cord measures 20” or desired length. Do not bind off but continue for Leaf.
Leaf
Now working back and forth in rows as usual:
Row 1 (Right Side): K1, [yo, k1] twice–5 sts.
Row 2 and all wrong side rows: Knit.
Row 3: K2, yo, k1, yo, k2–7 sts.
Row 5: K3, yo, k1, yo, k3–9 sts.
Row 7: K4, yo, k1, yo, k4–11 sts.
Row 9: Ssk, knit across row to last 2 sts, k2tog–9 sts.
Row 11: Ssk, knit across row to last 2 sts, k2tog–7 sts.
Row 13: Ssk, knit across row to last 2 sts, k2tog–5 sts.
Row 15: Ssk, knit across row to last 2 sts, k2tog–3 sts.
Row 17: Sk2p. Fasten off remaining st. Weave in yarn ends.
Flower Petals (Make 12 of desired color)
With knitting needles, cast on 2 sts.
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Knit into front and back of each st–4 sts.
Row 3: Knit.
Row 4: K1, knit into front and back of next 2 sts, k1–6 sts.
Rows 5 and 6: Knit.
Row 7: K2, k2tog, k2–5 sts.
Row 8: Knit.
Row 9: K2tog, slip 1, k2tog, pass 2 sts over the last st and off needle. Fasten off remaining st. Weave in yarn ends. Thread a length of yarn through the cast on edges of 4 petals to join and form a ring. Secure end leaving a long tail. Make 3 sets of flower petals for each napkin ring.
Finishing
Napkin Ring
Using a small bottle or other cylinder shape (approximately 5” in circumference) as a guide, wrap I-cord Stem around bottle forming a coil. Thread needle with MC and weave through coils to secure ring.
Flowers
Gather 3 sets of flower petals together and secure in center leaving long tail. Attach to ring at leaf edge. Weave in yarn ends.
