This is a very nice pattern, and all you need to know are knit and purl stitches! The pattern repeats every 5 stitches across the row, so if you want to make it wider cast on in a multiple of 5 (such as 35, 40, or 45 stitches). It will depend on how tightly or loosely you knit, so you can always make a swatch to figure out the size you want.

Dishcloths are such a great way to learn to knit different patterns and create interesting textures like this one. This bumpy texture is fun. If you want to make it a little bigger, you could add a border of garter stitch. I think that would look nice. I knit all my dishcloths out of 100% cotton. It washes well. If you

I love the texture of this washcloth. I do think that 30 stitch CO is too small. I only gave it 4 stars because it does not reference the pattern repeat count for those of us that like a spa size washcloth. Yes, Yes, Yes.... please, you have to use cotton for anything you are going to get wet. This is easy enough to play around with without wasting a lot of time deciding how big to make it. I make them for my neighbor and she loves them.

i have alot of oddes and ends was wondering do you use just 100% cotton to make these?

Hey there, mstroom! 100% cotton is definitely recommended, as it's very absorbent. However, you can always try knitting a tiny patch of yarn together and wiping some water off of a counter with it. If you think it's absorbent enough, feel free to use it as a washcloth! Happy knitting!

Lovely pattern and easy to remeber. It came out a little smaller than I would like, but it can easily be made bigger by increasing CO.

Love this one it came out really pretty. Nancy

I love making the rainy day dish cloth. I like mine a little larger so I co 40. Thank you for the fun-to-make pattern. Norma
