This is one of those old fashioned patterns that still looks beautiful today. It's pretty in the melon color in the picture but I'm sure it would be just as nice in almost any solid color. I would probably choose a sage green color, or aqua, or maybe go darker with a chocolate brown.

The ends are knit with smaller needles and fewer stitches. Why? I have never seen this before.

Thank you for the information about the pattern. I can't wait to get started on this one. I'm just finishing the Stained Glass Afghan and it is so beautiful. I will do this pineapple one in a misty green. Thanks again and I'll watch for your comments as you progress with yours.

I Love this pattern and am not having any trouble with it. I found it easy to do. I use stitch markers so I know when to change pattern. I used Caron One Pound yarn in Peach504 also I write out what row I am working on because the pineapple pattern is done for 54 rows and the diamond for 12 rows it helps me to keep track. I am about half way done and it is beautiful. I think it will take 3 of the Caron as I bought 2 and have completed 3 pineapple and have use about 1 1/2 pounds of yarn. I wish I could post a picture for you to see. I found this pattern easier to do than I first thought. For me it is a piece of cake and I am not a experienced knitter.

I have just purchased my yarn to make this afghan and was planning to start it next week. Did you get help with the problems? I will have enough trials when I start it and do not need any problems with the pattern. Thanks for your help and I hope you are having fun while knitting.
