This is a tried and true hat that has been around forever. Ear flaps and pompoms, in my opinion, are required in order to have a true winter hat to help to survive the cold. This is really so easy to make and there are so many variations to this hat out there that the customization options are endless.

My hats always have to go over my ears. These hats are perfect for that. Also on a windy day in NYC, the ear flaps and ties come in very handy. This is a different way for a pattern since you start with the ear flaps. I like that idea. It should work up quickly with the bigger needles as well. The different sizes are given so you can make one for each member of the family and friends. Thank you.

The ear flap hat has been an enduring style for decades and this one is just so cute! I remember wearing these as a child in the cold Canadian winters and then knitting them for my own children. They sure keep little ears warm! This pattern is super easy to customize in their favourite colors and patterns. It goes in the save file!
