Ch 8, work 1 sc into the 5th stitch of the BO edge. Rep three times to reach the end of the BO row, forming 4 scallops.
Turn and work 8 sc into each of the scallops and 1 sc into each sc of the previous row. When you reach the end, work 1 sc into last st, break yarn, and weave in all ends.
Rep this along the CO edge of the scarf. Block.

Not usually fond of bulky knit scarves but this one is beautiful. Just enough lace to make it pretty but not too holey. Love the crochet scallops on the ends too. Hope I have something in my stash to make it with or will have to go shopping.

Please explain the sl2tbl stitch. I've tried this so many times and always end up with 20 stitches instead of 19. I understand all the instruction until I get to the end where it indicates to slip both slipped stitches over. The knit 1 plus the 2 slipped stitches creates the extra stitch. Can you please clarify for me? I am a beginner level knitter.

The sl2tbl decribed is more commonly known as a slip2, knit1, pass slipped stitches over ,( sl2,k1,psso, or s2kp). I initially thought this meant to slip 2 stitches through the back loop...
