I like the way this bootie looks but hard to understand even though Im a beginner I know what the stitches are I still could not follow my bootie does not look nothing like the picture other than the pattern it is not shaped like a bootie so Im missing something thanks for listening.

This pattern uses an advanced knitting technique called "short row shaping", what that means is that after the initial rows are worked, the subsequent rows are only knit for the few specified stitches until you are instructed to turn, turn means exactly that, you will turn your work and start knitting back on the stitches previously worked while the unworked stitches are held on the needle until they are eventually incorporated back into the pattern. It may be helpful to find a tutorial or video example online, since this technique is much easier to understand when you see it than it is to explain.
