Knitting with a crochet hook? Who would have thought? Projects for Baby: Made with the Knook is where the wonderful world of knitting meets crochet to produce some of the most adorable baby patterns I’ve ever seen. Knitting for baby is always a treat. Since such light weight yarns are used, the knits are always so soft and, most importantly, quick and easy to make.
Projects for Baby contains many of the classic baby knits from cute and cozy baby blankets to adorable sweaters sure to keep them warm and toasty; and they’re all “knit” using Leisure Arts’ very own crochet hook— the Knook. I can admit that I was a little skeptical upon first encountering these projects. My knitting needles are my life; but I’m willing to try anything once. Knitting with a crochet needle isn’t hard at all once you get into the swing of things. Not to mention, Projects for Baby: Made with the Knook comes with both photo tutorials and access to bonus online technique videos to guide you through the process and help out if you’ve gotten yourself into a jam.
If you’re not quite ready to give up your needles, you don’t have to feel like you’re being left out of the loop. There’s still something here for those who wish to stick to the traditional way of knitting. In addition to the Knook pattern instructions, Projects for Baby: Made with the Knook also includes written patterns for needles that will produce the same results. Whether you want to give a new technique a whirl or are content with the way things are, you’re going to get some pretty amazing patterns out of this book.
