Caron® Latte Cakes™ (8.8 oz/250 g; 530 yds/485 m): Olive Peppercorn (22031) - 1 ball

Note: 1 ball will make 2 hats.
Set of 4 sizes U.S. 10 [6 mm] and U.S. 10½ [6.5 mm] double-pointed knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
Cable needle. Stitch marker.

Instructions

Hat

With set of smaller needles, cast on 72 sts. Join in rnd, placing marker on first st.

1st rnd: *P1. K1tbl. Rep from * around.

Rep last rnd for ribbing for 2" [5 cm].

Next rnd: M1. *Rib 3 sts. M1. Rib 2 sts. M1. Rep from * to last 7 sts. (Rib 2 sts. M1) 3 times. K1tbl. 102 sts.

Change to set of larger needles and proceed in pat as follows:

1st to 3rd rnds: *K12. P2. K1tbl. P2. Rep from * around.
4th rnd: *C6B. C6F. P2. K1tbl. P2. Rep from * around.
5th and 6th rnds: *K12. P2. K1tbl. P2. Rep from * around.

Rep last 6 rnds 4 times more.

Break yarn, leaving a long end. Thread yarn through rem sts and fasten securely.

Pompom: Wind yarn around 4 ngers approx 120 times. Remove from ngers and tie tightly in center. Cut through both side of loops. Trim to a smooth round shape. Sew to top of Hat.
