Spring Shadows Braid Cable Hat
This soft mesh Spring Shadow Braid Cable Hat is a great between-seasons hat for when the weather's cool but not quite cold. The space between the cabled braid in this hat is largely mesh, which keeps the hat from being too warm and heavy. The hat is adorned with a braided cable knit to add some complexity to the pattern. Try knitting a hat with the yarn used in these instructions for the full "spring shadows" effect of shifting cloudy blues and greens. Best of all, this knit hat pattern uses just one skein of yarn!
Knitting Needle Size9 or 5.5 mm, 10.5 or 6.5 mm

I really like the cable in this hat and the almost lacy panels in between. Hats are one of my favorites because they're so quick. I give them as gifts a lot. Especially when worked in the round. This one looks light enough that it would be good on a cool spring day.
