Looking at this pattern, I would not consider it a beginner pattern because for rows 12 to 68 you have to knit a pattern following a chart (no written instructions for those rows). You also have to know how to increase. Pretty hat, but you will have to have some knitting experience and skills to make it.

I considered this pattern "for beginners" because there are only four types of stitches (knit, purl, inc 1 and knit 2 together). As to the increase, thank you for telling me that and I agree with you. Thank you.
