Im a little confused with the second row star stitch instructions. Is there a tutorial?

This is a pretty afghan or throw pattern in holiday colors. However, I am not a big fan of stitching long panels together, and really don't like having to pick up 160 to 190 stitches along each edge (that means four times) to knit a border. I would just crochet a simple edging all around instead of doing that.

The asterisk character wasn't saved by the comment field. For the row that has what I believe is an erratum, type in the asterisk character where I spelled it out. IT's probably confusing because STAR refers to the STAR stitch, not asterisk. I think the authors of this pattern could have made this clearer by using other characters instead of 4 and 5 asterisks, hard to read.

This looks like a great pattern. I'm a bit confused. What's the difference between P1 asterisk Star and P1 asterisk? I make a star using the asterisk key. So I must be missing something. Thanks.

This is a lovely pattern but I think there is an erratum. I believe the 2nd row of Panel B should be P1, Star, p1 to end. I think I will type out the pattern and cut and paste the repeats because you use so many . Thanks for this pattern!

I just realized the asterisks didn't come through. I believe the second row of Panel B should be P1 asterisk Star, p1 asterisk. repeat asterisk to askerisk to end.
