This is certainly lovely with the Araucania Tepa variegated yarn used in the original pattern. I can't quite visualize how the cables join together - I'm always better off just starting to knit in that case, because it all becomes clearer as I actually do it. I'd be very interested to see how this looks as a shawl and what modifications in the pattern you'd need, so if anyone has done that, please upload a pic and tell us what you did. Thanks!

certainly does have texture and keep the eye moving - easy to create and I am certain it would be fun to wear.
