This is a good pattern for someone that wants the Fair Isle look but doesn't like the Fair Isle knitting which is me. I have a hard time carrying the yarn and not pulling it too tight. This just slips the stitches.

I agree. It's a way to do colorwork knitting that is not too hard and the repeating pattern is helpful. Also this pattern uses lighter weight yarn so the cowl still comes out lightweight even with the two colors worked. (Some Fair Isle pieces come out a little thick and bulky. At least for me.)
