Garter Stitch Bordered Dishcloth
Two basic stitches combine to form the Garter Stitch Bordered Dishcloth. This basic knit dishcloth pattern is made up of a stockinette stitch body and garter stitch outline. This is a great first project for beginning knitters and requires just one skein of worsted weight yarn. Choose a color that matches your kitchen or a fun multi-colored fiber as shown in the picture.

This dish cloth or wash cloth is super easy to make and quick to work up. It looks like a great stash buster pattern, too. You can show off the colors in a self patterning yarn, or you could make it striped with odds and ends you have on hand.
