Knitted Flowers and Hearts Bed Set
Little girls especially tend to love bright and beautiful home decor. For their birthday or just for a surprise, try knitting them a Knitted Flowers and Hearts Bed Set and watch their rooms, and their faces, light up. Knit afghans and blankets so often end up being a single solid color with perhaps a fancy stitch or two thrown in, but that's not nearly exciting enough for the average child. this tutorial will teach you how to knit flowers into a blanket, along with a couple of color-coordinated heart-shaped pillows as a bonus.
NotesWhen working from charts, wind small balls of the colors to be used, one for each separate area of color in the design. Start new colors at appropriate points. To change colors, twist the two colors around each other where they meet, on WS, to avoid a hole.

FINISHING
Sew Front and Back tog leaving an opening at side to insert stuffing. Stuff firmly. Sew opening closed, leaving a small hole to insert end of twisted cord.
Twisted Cord
Cut two 6 yard [5.5 m] lengths each of MC and A. Taking all strands tog hold one end and with someone holding other end, twist strands to the right until they begin to curl. Cont until cord is tightly twisted. Fold the 2 ends tog and tie in a knot so the cord will not unravel. The strands will now twist themselves tog.
Sew twisted cord along seam. Secure ends in hole.

There are two different needle sizes listed above for this pattern. Under Knitting Needle Size it says 10 or 6 mm, circular knitting needles. However, under Materials it says Size 10 mm (U.S. 15) circular needle. With the super bulky yarn you would usually use size 15 but would like clarification please.
