This was my first attempt at pattern knitting. The directions were easy to follow and it was fun to se the pattern emerge. I created a file card with each row pattern on a separate card. Then I flipped the card as I finished a row. I made this with DK yarn. Next time I'll use worsted to have the project go faster.

A row or two don't reconcile at the end and a slight adjustment has to be made to accommodate the stitches at the border. I'm still working on it, making the Extra Large size. If I'm putting in all that work, it might as well last longer. This is a gift for my infant granddaughter and I really enjoy it. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and the result is what you see, a rich brocade pattern. I consider myself still a beginner when it comes to understanding pattern instructions and this one makes me feel like pro potential! Thank you.
