This simple to knit blanket provides a good introduction for novice knitters into pattern knitting. The changing texture is achieved by purling on the right side and knitting on the wrong side to create the textured stripe, then switching back to stockinette stitch in between. The designer shows you how to line up your striped yarn to create the one color stripes too.
