I love this hat. It is simple but is different. I agree with the prior remarks. A chunkier yarn will probably be better or use you have to watch your gauge. I always have to watch my gauge anyway since I have a small head. But it will be an unusual hat and you won't see many of them. Great for gifts as well. Thank you.

This is a great pattern, and I love the layered buttons too. The blogger made the hat with homespun alpaca yarn, so it was chunky/bulky. Therefore if you substitute worsted weight yarn, you should be careful to make sure the hat fits as you make it. You might do better using a heavier weight yarn as a substitute for the alpaca.

It may not have a brim,but what a spectacular hat. Have to knit it and not as a gift only so many items one can give to others
