    Knitting Needle Size19 or 15 mm

    Yarn Weight(6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)

    Gauge6 sts and 8 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stocking st with 2 strands held tog.

    Finished SizeApprox 5" x 70" [12.5 x 178 cm].

    • Bernat® Wool-Up Bulky™ (6 oz/170 g; 121 yds/110 m)

      • Contrast A: Denim (50114) - 1 ball

      • Contrast B: Aran (50008) - 1 ball


    • Size U.S. 19 (15 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

    Instructions

    With 2 strands of A held tog, cast on 32 sts.

    Knit 3 rows (garter st), noting 1st row is WS.

    Beg on a knit row, work 4 rows in stocking st.

    Break 1 strand of A. Join 1 strand of B. Holding 1 strand each of A and B tog, and beg on a knit row, work 6 rows in stocking st.

    Break A. Join B.

    Holding 2 strands of B tog, beg on a knit row, work 4 rows in stocking st.

    Crown shaping:

    1st row: (RS). *K2. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 24 sts.
    2nd and alt rows: Purl.
    3rd row: *K1. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 16 sts.
    5th row: *K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 8 sts.

    Break yarn, leaving a long end. Thread end through rem sts and draw up tightly. Fasten securely. Sew back seam.
