this is a comment on the sock article you had last week .I am so in awe of knitted socks.I have tried my hand at it and was quite pleased but... I have been told this story about my Great-great Grandmother she was a Civil war widow with children to raise and a farm to tend. She was a tiny little Creek Indian woman what she lacked in stature she made up for in grit. It was 23 miles to town from where she lived so when supplies ran out she had to walk 46 miles there and back. This is what blows my mind! Not to waste any time she would knit a sock on the way and the mate on the way back, now fellow knitters I say to you it takes me days in my recliner. A very proud gg grandaughter glnwhi@aol.com
