"I love the look of giant knitting – the chunky blankets seem so cozy! But the yarn and kits can get expensive really fast, so I decided to try something on a smaller (more affordable) scale. Enter: giant knitted pillow."

    Easy

Knitting Needle Size50 or 25 mm

    Yarn Weight(7) Jumbo

    Materials List

    • Size 50 knitting needles
    • 5 skeins Loops & Threads Chunky or Biggie
    • 18" pillow form

    Instructions

Cast on 30 stitches and knit each row back and forth until work measures 22". Cast off, leaving a long tail. Fold work in half, and weave the tail in and out to "stitch" up two sides. Insert pillow form, and stitch up the final side. Tuck in all ends.

I need to get some more bulky yarn. This is an easy pattern and it is a good way to use an old bed pillow. I like a lot of pillows on my bed so this will be a nice addition. Thank you.

This looks like a fun and easy pillow cover. I don't have jumbo yarn but I can used three or four strands together of worsted weight and get the same effect. Seems to me it could be a great stash buster project. You could mix up colors, make stripes, whatever you wanted.

I like knitting patterns that can be written in one paragraph! ) This is defnitely something to keep in mind for one of those afternoons when I "need" to do something but don't want to commit to a bigger project. The cool thing is that it can easily be made any size to fit over a pillow one already has.

Simple to knit - basic knitting - and a big cushion where you need it - with colour options and if one wants a bigger pillow just make it longer or wider. Moi-mme, I find myself thinking of making it into a cosy bed for one of the dogs. Taking the pressure off elbows and giving them a comfortable spot to curl up
