Well, now I know what to do with those vintage buttons I have - knit this pillow cover and make good use of them! It takes 2 buttons to close the cover plus you can use more for decoration like the designer did in a cluster. So you could really combine almost any buttons together to make a little group, or sew them on in a pattern.

This pillow is so cute with the little cluster of buttons. It might be a nice way to display some lovely mother of pearl buttons or vintage buttons with a theme. I think I would add a piece of plain muslin on the inside of the pillow to give the needle and thread a secure place to add the buttons. If you matched the color of the fabric to the color of the yarn, no one would know it was there.
