Chaukor (pronounced chalk-ore) is defined as a rectangular shawl featuring a grid-like, textured lace pattern. The pattern tutorial includes both a written instructions and a chart. The finished length, depending on your gauge is approximately 71 inches by 13 inches. The main stitch pattern is worked over a multiple of 15 stitches and 18 rows.

Just to mention, the yarn weight listed above on this page is incorrect. The pattern calls for fingering weight yarn (1), which is slightly heavier than the lace weight (0) listed. Fingering weight is also sometimes called sock weight. Using such a light yarn with size 6 needles will certainly add to the lacy appearance of the pattern.

an unusual pattern and a new challenge - looks good in the green as shown, but how about a royal blue or a deep burgundy? Yes, I have to try
