Reversible Ridged Garter and Cable Scarf
"What a great scarf for men, women, or kids! Not only is there no wrong side to this scarf, both sides are identical--that's something you rarely see with cable patterns. I used 100% wool and made this scarf extra long for as a gift for someone really tall. You can make yours any length. The scarf lies flat, so no blocking required. Other than the cable rows, every row is the same; just count rows to keep track of when to cable for my fun pattern. Enjoy!"
NotesAmount of yarn: I used Patons classic wool worsted yarn in plum heather. This scarf uses about 1.3 skeins to be extra long because I made it for someone tall. One skein makes a scarf approximately 55 inches.
A few notes:
This pattern looks identical from front and back, which is perfect for a scarf. I just love a cable scarf where both sides look good.
The repeating pattern has the cable after 6 rows, 12 rows, 6 rows, 18 rows. I am left-handed, so the cables cross over to the left. If you knit right-handed and put the cable stitches in front, your cable will go the opposite way.
