Fitzgerald Scarf
If you are just learning how to knit, this Fitzgerald Scarf is a wonderful project to help bulk up your skills. A simple slip stitch cable gives this scarf its interesting texture, so this is a great knitted scarf pattern to check out if you're thinking about doing cables in the future. Included in this reversible pattern are two different versions: a scarf with a ruffled edge and one without.

Nudor6364866... I think "knit wise" means insert the needle into the stitch as if you were going to knit it rather than purl- put it in in the knit direction.

@mmgabel 6201444, After clicking on the link that says "click here for knitting pattern," please scroll all the way to the bottom of the page where it says "download free pattern." You should then be able to download the pdf. You will need the latest version of Adobe installed on your computer. --Editor of AllFreeKnitting

It says "click for the knitting pattern" for the fitzgerald scarf, but when you do it doesn't give you the pattern, it just suggests what kind of yarn to use and how easy this pattern is. Where are the instructions?

I want to make this pattern but am having difficulty understanding the stitch sl1 kwise tbl. I consider myself to be an intermediate knitter but this has me stumped. I get slip 1 knitwise but thru the back loop has me puzzled. The stitch comes off the needle when I go thru the back loop. Can you offer any suggestions?
