I think some pieces are timeless and this one is one of them, the structure of the piece and the stich pattern, can easily be recognizable as something I may find on a store today. The pattern is well written but it may need a few swatches to understand the different actions on rows 5th and 6th to create the stich specially if you are a beginner o haven't masters the technique yet, nevertheless is a good project if you want to improve your skills and end up with a shawl that can become a family heirloom.

This may be a vintage pattern, but it looks like it would go well with just about any modern look. I am thinking jeans and high boots, but it could be worn with something more formal, too. There's a warning on the pattern page to the effect that the pattern may have "vintage terms," but I wouldn't worry about that. It's simply written and looks very easy to follow.
