I believe there is an error in the very first row of the pattern, you are instructed to place markers to indicate the middle stitch, however following the directions gives you two stitches in the middle and it is not centered, I think it should be knit 2 stitches, place marker, knit 1, place marker, knit 2, since that is what will make the pattern turn out correctly and looking like both the explanation and the picture.
