After I cast off the 3 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows it left me with 95 stitches. Following directions for size L, doing the next four rows 6 times (do each row once, then repeat 5 times), I would end up with 59 stitches, not 69 as indicated. Help!

Hi Bobbie, I believe you may be looking at the wrong numbers for the size L. In the section after the 3-stitch bind-off that reads "Sizes M, L, XL, 2/3XL and 4/5XL only," the sizes are written thusly: (M, L, XL, 2/3XL, 4/5XL). I believe you're looking at the XL size rather than the L, and therefore you repeated that section 5 times rather than once. Furthermore, you are looking to end that section with 83 stitches (for large), not 69 stitches (for XL). I recommend going back, printing off the pattern, and circling the numbers for the L size in order to make sure you're following the right size. We hope this helps! Happy knitting! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

Thanks! Another question On the front, the directions state Dec 1 st at next edge on next and alt rows,AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at raglan edge (as before) on next and alt rows...first, what is meant by "as before", and also when you say alt rows, does this mean every other row (meaning every knit row) or does it mean every other knit row?

The pattern says to "decrease 1 stitch at the NECK edge on next and alt rows (alt means alternate rows, so every second row after the initial decrease.) The previous decreases made were done at the raglan edge, so the as before means to keep doing that decrease until the 4 stitches remain. I know this is really late, however it may help someone else, happy knitting.
