this pattern says CO 8 sts....that's 8 sts divided by 4...i have tried & tried to do this and i just can't do it without twisting.,..actually i just can't do it & i'm an experienced knitter!is there a trick to this?

I haven't read the pattern yet, so take this advice with a grain of salt, but I would recommend splitting your 8 stitches onto 2 needles instead of 4. This can get a bit tight, so watch your guage, but it's virtualy impossible to twist. Alternatively, you can use a knitting spool to create the cord and then transfer to needles for the bobble part.
