Chestnut Heirloom Hat
This attractive hat is one you'll pass down for years to come. The Chestnut Heirloom Hat is an easy knit hat pattern made with a beautiful shade of brown yarn that goes well with whatever you're wearing. The pattern is simple, but the result is a classic, sophisticated accessory you'll enjoy wearing, even as your style evolves. A child's version of the Chestnut Heirloom Hat can be made with just a half skein of yarn, so make a matching father and son set.

This can be knit on 2 needles, you would just have to sew the seam at the end. I have a pattern that is the same as this and my beginner knitters make many for the homeless shelters. Hope this helps.
