If you're looking for a quick way to bust through some of your yarn stash, try this thrifty idea for Yarn Covered Coat Hangers. While not one of your typical beginner knitting projects, wrapping yarn around the hangers does have value. Not only does it keep clothes from easily falling off of the hangers, but keeps hangers from getting tangled with one another as well.

My grandmother always had several of these in the closet at home. I love them. I find them much better for shirts with wide neck openings. The yarn covering helps prevent the shirts from slipping off of the hanger. You do have to be careful to not use any yarn that has colour that will run or transfer onto your clothing though.
